Once In A White Moon

Those magnificent men in their frigates

Today is the day I’ve looked forward to a couple of weeks. Later today my workmates and I are driving to Oslo Airport to fly to Bergen. Tomorrow we will embark the KNM Trondheim, one of Norways three existing frigates, and we we’ll sail to Stavanger. We’ll even have some gun exercises out on the open sea. I’m really excited. So I’ll be back wednesday with a lot of pictures I hope to have published this weekend. Bon voyage!

Stressing work situation

A whole month of not updating my website. That’s gotta be a new record… well… I’ve updated my DVD collection so it’s not all true.Last week I got a new letter from my boss. The earlier warning that I might temprarily be laid off has now officially been withdrawn. So seems my place in my office is safe again. It looked ugly a while when my boss suggested I apply for another (identical) position within the company, and I didn’t get it. But now that the heat is off I can look forward to a team-building trip with my co-workers to the Western Norway where we will "set sail" on one of the Norwegian Navy’s frigattes at the beginning of June. Busy times

There’s been a lot going on lately. I’m making visual effects for a Lord of the Rings documentary, which of course is really cool. What is not cool is that I’m running a risk of being temporarily laid off from work due to a low workload (but I would get back this fall). This would cause a temporary unemployment with reduced income, which, needless to say, is not very welcome. I did apply for another position in another branch of my company, but two other guys got the offered positions (probably after a toss-up). But there are rumors that some other collegues are pulling some strings to get me back into the project I used to be in. I’ve got an informal meeting on monday […] Read more

Redecorating

Phew, this was a tough day. I’ve taken a few relaxing days of work. Yet this day was not relaxing at all. I’ve totally refurnished my living room. I’ve just received my new TV/Stereo bench and the only way to make it fit into my living room was to mirror it. I.e. place the couch where the TV used to stay and vica versa. This took pretty much all day, assembling the bench and moving all the furniture. A really tough job. But the result turned out very nice and I’m happy I did it. It’s almost like living in a new place. Check out some fresh pictures. Also; Happy birthday mom! :D
