Once In A White Moon

I’ll see you for christmas

Today my sister and her boyfriend leaves for Nicaragua. They’re spending the months leading up to Christmas there (with a trip by Cuba on the way down, and Mexico on the way back again) to study Spanish and Latin American Social Sciences. We had dinner together last Friday and said our goodbyes, but I’m using this opportunity to make an official goodbye. Have a great trip little sis, and I’ll see you again for Christmas!

California vacation video prequel

Now that my big California vacation is closing in I’ve finally been able to finish its prequel; The vacation movie from when I visited New York City in February 2007. There’s been a lot of late nights these past days to get it finished, but now it is and I’m very happy with the result. You can see the result for yourself by downloading the DVD. I’ve made it available as a torrent, to spread the load, and for more easy sharing between everybody. The torrent can be found here, and I suggest a torrent client like uTorrent (Windows) or Transmission (OSX) to download the DVD. Note to close friends and family: You don’t need to download since I’ll probably come show it to you personally ;)

Solar Eclipse

I wasn’t too excited about the solar eclipse today, since the moon was only going to cover 50% of the sun’s diameter. The eclipse of 2003 was much more spectacular in that matter. It still got to be interesting, though, since the blinds on the window in my office work as a pinhole camera, with the floor and walls as the film, so I got to see some nice eclipsed discs at the office.

A new family member

Yesterday my cousin gave birth to a healthy little boy named Ole-Jakob. He weighs 3850 grams and he’s 51 centimeters long. He was delivered through a C-section at 20:54, and everything is just as is should be. My cousin is okay, and the father has pulled through without any ill effects. My cousin doesn’t have any brothers or sisters, so she promised that all her cousins would become uncles and aunts. So I’m now officially an uncle. My big congratulations to the happy couple, and a happy literal birthday to little Ole Jakob.
