Once In A White Moon

New York, baby!

When I first heard that Ennio Morricone was having his first ever concert in the United States, I was intruiged at being part of this special occasion. However, since I am from Norway, this seemed a little far fetched, but the notion of seeing Maestro Morricone conduct his own works was really tempting. After all he is one of the greatest film music composers there is, with an incredible track record. When word of this concert spread to the community over at StreamingSoundtracks.com (SST), everybody jumped out of their seats and purchased tickets. Suddenly everybody I knew, and then some, from SSTwas going, and the temptation for me to go grew beyond its limits, and I decided to go as well. Dude, where’s my PDA?

It’s been a long and winding road, but I’ve finally reached the end of it. In april I parted with my trusty PDA. Not because I was tired of it, but because it didn’t support WPA-encrypted wireless networks, which I try to run at home. Normally you would just download some drivers from Hewlett Packard, but this was a special case. The ROM on my PDA was in German, yet its operating system was in English. A while ago I attended my cousin’s wedding. She was just as beautiful as a bride should be, and they both proclaimed their "yes" in front of a couple of very proud parents. After having spent an excruciating 30 minutes in the church (as most of you know, I don’t have much patience to spare when it comes to "god talk") we went out to the bride’s home where the parents had ordered a big party tent and put it up on the solid rock in their back yard, overlooking the Oslo fjord (it was such a great view that words alone couldn’t describe it). But the "fun" didn’t start until the party some hours later. After having finished the first course and the waitresses had […] Read more

Summer holiday

This had been a great weekend and a couple of days off of work. The annual barbeque party on saturday was a great hit, though I wish more of the invited people would’ve attended. Mom also made my favorite dinner yesterday, and to sleep in my cool room without having to worry about spiders on my legs/arms/head I got some good quality sleep. So now I’m back in my own appartment just heading to sleep… and I have no idea if thursday’s late night carpenting and extermination actually worked like it should.
